TALKING TOILETS
TALKING TOILETS
Rueters, (2004) “Talking Toilets tells you to be tidy” MSNBC. News, 8/31, p.1-3.
In an Amsterdam café, creator Leonard van Munster has built a talking toilet. Once you are in the circular stall surrounded by walls, a voice tells you to quit smoking, leave the toilet seat down, use basic hygiene, and tells what the last person did wrong.
Alas, the toilet can be helpful in slowing down the spread of disease. It is all based on sensors and if you conform to basic etiquette then sensor records this behavior. If not, you must be prepared for the consequences. That is a voice that tells you to clean up your act.
