MACRO NARRATIVES
Micro narratives are smaller, localized stories that focus on specific events, characters, or moments. They provide a close-up view and often explore individual experiences, emotions, and interactions. These narratives might be found within a larger macro narrative, contributing to the overall context.
In contrast, macro narratives are broader and encompass larger societal themes. They address collective experiences, historical shifts, and overarching trends. Macro narratives shape our understanding of the world and influence cultural norms and values.
Think of it this way: if micro narratives are individual brushstrokes on a canvas, macro narratives are the entire painting—the grand tapestry that weaves together countless smaller threads into a cohesive whole.
