EARLY GRADUATION COSTS MORE
College grad owes school for finishing early, judge says

College degrees may pay off in the long run, but it’s definitely a short-term hit when you have pay the school extra for graduating. Former student Marcel Pohl was sued by the School of Economics and Management in Essen, Germany, after he finished his degrees at super speed, and this week a judge ruled that the new grad owes the university for the extra seven semesters he would have attended. Pohl tried to argue that dropouts aren’t billed for terms they don’t attend, but the judge said that because Pohl used the same facilities as other students, he has to pay the same as other students. And while the number isn’t clear, based on the lawsuit and the school’s fees, it could range from about $3,600 to more than $13,000. [Source]
