Jackie Brown is about two-and-a-half hours long, but it zips by like a film half that length, and every second the iconic Pam Grier is on screen in her titular role as a money-smuggling flight attendant is a second worth relishing.September 13, 2021 | Full Review…D. Patrick RodgersNashville Scene

AUDIENCE REVIEWS FOR JACKIE BROWN
- Jan 19, 2016I never really quite clicked with this one, and I think that’s because this is the only QT movie he didn’t invent the story for. It’s well made and the performances are memorable but there’s not much in the storyline that resonates with me……SHOW MORESUPER REVIEWER
- Nov 29, 2014What’s often considered Tarantino’s sophomore slump may be lacking in the director’s penchant for bloodshed, but it’s got more than enough strength of narrative and character to make up for the loss.SHOW MOREIsaac HSUPER REVIEWER
- Sep 30, 2014The one Tarantino film I’d never got round to seeing. Like the rest of his films he gets the casting spot on here. The problem is the source material. The story just isn’t juicy enough to sustain the 2.5 hour running time he gives it. Thus we have scenes that add nothing or just go on way too long. Yes, it allows the actor to show how good they are in the role but it makes the film a chore and Tarantino films should NEVER be a chore! I can’t see myself revisiting this one again.SHOW MOREDavid SSUPER REVIEWER
- Jul 04, 2013Jackie Brown is, in my opinion, Quentin Tarantino’s weakest film. Tarantino’s characters are typically ultra-interesting, written with genius dialogue, but I found myself completely uninterested in any of the dialogue, and even less in the characters. Particularly the female protagonist (played by Pam Grier) and the character Ordell (Samuel L. Jackson), who seemed like a dumber version of his part in Pulp Fiction. The plot is just about people chasing a large sum of money; something Tarantino has more or less visited before, but it’s just not as smartly done this time. It has his signature style, but it’s not as jumpy and energetic as it usually is. I just didn’t connect with this film at all.SHOW MOREKevin MSUPER REVIEWER
