If you go to google earth, you can look up where you use to live and what

cyberspace portrays where you are now. You can also travel on

google earth.

Now comes a better rendition of the above. It is called vPike.com/ A few days ago,

I talked with my room mate from graduate school. We shared an apartment

in the mid 60's. We have had a number of conversations since. However, I never could

visualize where he came from or where he lived now. As we were talking,

I opened vPike.com, put in his address of the house where he grew up and

prospered. It was next to a synagogue in Dubuque, Iowa. The picture showed

a pretty white house of which he shared with parents and a number of

brothers. Then he told where he lived today. It is in Port Chester Village outside the

big Apple in the state of New York. Further, in both sites, I could go all over

the neighborhood as he told me about his feelings dealing with his

current neighbors.

I also after the conversation went back to the house that my mother lived in

for fifty years. Further, I traveled down the street and turned south on 56th

street to see the homes of friends and acquaintances. One big "summer house" looked just

great and when I was 10, a little girl in the neighborhood had a party in the

big open porch in front.I could go back there and I could imagine that

we were dancing the jitterbug to that new rock and roll music. On the slow ballads,

we did the two step. Two steps forward and one step back in time.
