Correlation is not necessarily causation. Although Americans do not score as high as other countries in the SAT, they are the most productive compared with an other country. When you add transportation, lack of union, lack of health care costs, more temping, more automation and outsourcing Americans are generally at the top.

So why do more jobs go overseas? Short term costs are lower and other countries do not have the chance to organize into labor unions.
