When the poor go to court

Roane(2006)U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT/1/23/34-35

This is an old problem that has come back. The poor did have representation in the mid to late 60's and since then it has been all downhill. If you can't afford a lawyer than theoretically, one will be provided for you as stated in the Miranda arrest card. Now that is a chance that no one will show up so you either go to jail, serve out a parole, or the easiest is to plead guilty and put one's self at the mercy of the court. Anyone who tries to defend themselves has a fool for a client.

If you do get a lawyer, they place you last because it is pro-bono work. They  may or may not talk to you before the trial. You are really on your own.
