Using the same picture with two different groups matched by demographics, males with front vowels like Matt are more attractive than those with back vowels like Paul. For women it is the reverse.
The study conduct at M.I. T. was the first of its kind. Names matter.

However, androgynous names like Jordan and Hilton are attractive to both sexes. Some masculine names for women do okay too, but feminine names for males do not do well in terms of attraction by women.

As the Johnny Cash song “A Boy Named Sue” males will struggle with both sexes and find that changing their name or using a less controversial middle name is the best strategy.

The findings were in the London based magazine NEW SCIENTIST.
