I have received an avalanche of e-mails asking to tell more about my relationship with Warren Buffet. As you know, I went to grade school with him. I have lived in the same city, state, neighborhood with him. Both of us had editorials in the same newspaper,
THE OMAHA WORLD HERALD. I have a good friend that goes to his annual meeting.
I had been in his parents’ grocery store many times. So what more do you want?

Well here it is.

Since our days in grade school, Warren moved to a house formerly owned by a medical doctor on 54th and Farnam Street. It is on the corner. He bought it in 1958 and over the years added rooms, a ball court, and a larger garage. I told Warren that he should put a gate around the house, but he has not done so. As you enter, you see a large drive way surrounded by the nice home. It is modest for a billionaire and the 2nd richest man in the USA.

Warren doesn’t like to dress up, so he wears sweat clothes and some tennis shoes. Rumor has it that he bought the shoes at Wal-Mart, but what do I know? Do you think that I am going to ask him? I know he gets a 12 dollar haircut in a building that he owns in downtown Omaha.

When I was a kid I went to Sprague’s drugstore in Benson. He did too but now he goes
To Cris’s Pharmacy right on Dodge Street which is the main drag in the city. What we really so share in common is that my entire family enjoys going to GORATS steak house.
Some times we go to MR. C’S in north Omaha, but GORATS is great. It is on 49th and Center Street. There is a wonderful drive up breezeway with a modest entry. When you turn to the right is a small night club setting and bar, but most go on to the spacious dining hall. With my bad heart, there is a lot that I can not eat, but GORATS is a favorite.
I have gone there since childhood.

Since I sold my jet plane, I can tell you that lots of execs park their jets at Elliot aviation and Tac Air which is just adjacent to each other. There can be up to 70 of those jets because they have all come to the WARREN BUFFETT annual meeting. It is on a week end in the first week of May. They travel all the way, to hear Warren’s message and to socialize. My friend was there because I could not go. I had an important appointment with a top consultant to the world’s elite. He wanted my advice.

So, my $100,000 share of Berkshire-Hathaway went to my buddy. He will give me a personal account of the happenings.

At any rate, the annual meeting gives rise to BUFFETT NIGHT at GORATS. I had to miss that too.

So I will call Warren as soon as I can so that we will be in touch. So that’s it, I don’t want any more e-mails. I have given all the information that I have. If you want more, look him up on the internet. There are a number of pictures of him; I am generally standing just to the left of him.
