STEPHENS (14) The world's most depressed country according to Harvard Medical School and the World Health Organization is the United States of America. Our country has highest depression and bi-polars of 14 countries, mainly post-modern countries and rich ones at that. However, the conservative Wall Street Journal suggests getting back to religion and seeing our problems as

relative deprivation. We had more years ago and now we don't so we are drifting and in despair.

If all the other possibilities such as research protocols, sampling, wording of the questionnaire holds up, Nigeria is the happiest. It is poor and authoritarian. Do you want that? The middle class might get happier if it felt a bit more secure and saw rising wages. Seeking out and experience with a higher power can't hurt at all.

Doesn't that make it fascist? Most of the country is dirt poor, but the country is now a big player on the stage. Many good jobs from the west go to China. It is profitable for those at the top in the west. What China did not do is what Russia did and that was to flirt with democracy. Russia lost all of its satellites, its economic base and is now heading back to an orderly form

of capitalism and Leninism. I think that makes into fascism of the Left.

about 2000, then it dropped to where it was in 97 in 2006.

HAMM (49-52) India is in big trouble even though as an amalgam it looks good on paper. Those shiny new campuses for workers who are taking American jobs conceals the real country. India is poor. It has crumbling roads, jammed airports, power blackouts, and hobbled growth.
