A new survey indicates that in modern Egypt, 67% of women respondents believe that a woman should be beaten by her husband if she talks to another man. There are other incidents of traditionalism, however, one of the biggest problems reside in the women who are opposed or just apathetic to changing the law. Egypt should be thought of as the most advanced Arab countries of the world. PLASTICS TIME 4/12/2010 WALSH 44-50 Since World War II, a new synthetic emerged that look in some ways like glass but was super tough and hard to break. It is plastic and now after years of discussion, it appears that plastics of microscopic levels reside in our bodies and are thought to be correlated with all kinds of problems. Bisphenol and phatlates are but a few of the alleged abusive chemicals. There is a 34 year old law to ban such chemicals, but it has never been enforced. Things may be changing. QUEEN FLUSH TIME 4/12/2010 KLUGER/61-62 First there are a lot of human waste that goes down the toilet and on balance that's just great. However, many of us take medications. Through one's urinary system they get flushed down too. That's not so great. In the 70's scientist, began noting all the junk in the waterways in the states and elsewhere. There was lots of garbage that was discovered along with medications. Science put the emphasis on the garbage and the meds were set aside for later. By the 90's, this issue kept increasing. Tranquilizers, anti-biotics, steroids and numerous others made a terrible soup for humans to drink downstream. The question now is how much does of these meds pose a danger? Stay tuned.
