WHAT WAS SADDAM THINKING WHEN THE USA TROOPS ATTACKED?

Saddam was incredibly surprised. He did not think that the USA would attack. He also thought that France and Russia would protect him. He did not think that the USA troops would go all the way to Baghdad. He thought that Iraq was winning the war because his generals were afraid to tell him the truth.Many believed Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Only Saddam and a few close associates knew that he did not have them.He finally told them before the actual ground war started and morale took a dive.He was not going to tell the world for fear that Israel would attack.

In the mean time, many took to the hills to become insurgents later on.
