WEB 2.0

LEVY & STONE ( 2006) NEWSWEEK/4/3/ 47-53

My Space is not an ordinary web site. Once you have checked in there are 65 million people to talk to and they are sorted by demographics, gender orientation and related. On your own site WITHIN their site, you can dress it up with pictures of you, links, and numerous other ways to communicate with you. You can also list your friends and their sites. There are also invitations by advertisements to go to other sites or sell or goods and services. In other words, Web 2.0 is the NEW VIRTUAL VILLAGE, where you go shopping and visiting right at home on your computer.

Two years ago, My Space did not exist. Today, it has 65 million members and has recently been bought by Rupert Murdock for a large amount of money. Some of the others are Flickr, You Tube, Dabble, and Living Web.

Expect in the future, more of these sites and quirky special sites for the millions that go on the internet 24/7 365.
