THE LOST ROYALS

Kantrowitz, Barbara (2005) Legal at last NEWSWEEK, 4/18/2005, 60-61.

The House of Windsor appears to have lost its luster. Charles and Camillia were finally married. The marriage ceremony was bumped a day later because the Pope’s funeral was at the same time.

Brits were under whelmed. The couple now has a blended family. Each has been married and both have 2 children.

Lady Di and Lady Sarah Ferguson added some excitement to the family and now one is gone and the other is not as royal as she works for an American company. Sarah though is still a sweetheart with Yanks. She still lives with her first husband on a platonic basis, but the marriage is over.

The Windsor will endure as they always have. If any thing, the symbolic monarchy is a tourist treasure for Brits. They also have plenty of money and property. To stop this monarchy would mean a tremendous change in government.

The real survivor is the Queen.
