| THE
DEATH OF THE MALL?
Weber, Joseph (2005) How the net is remaking the mall, BUSINESS WEEK, 5/9, 60-61.
Think of this. Imagine a very spiffy version of a small town where you can park immediately in the front door. The shopping area is arranged in squares so that small town feel is still there. You have order something on the internet and you can get the product in about 2 weeks at your home. Or you can order on the internet and pick it up in a day or two. Further, you can order it at the store. Regardless of the arrangement, the shopping TIME is cut. This is something that you can do after work. Malls are made for the fun and experience of the out doors but a room
temperature. You spend hours at the mall. You spend minutes at the life
style centers. The really good malls survive, and shopping life style
centers proliferate. This is followed by strip malls.
