THE NEXT NEW THING

BUSINESS WEEK (2008) 7/28

32/ MANDEL

The next big thing appears to be INFRASTRUCTURE. Infrastructure is a nice name for bridges, highways, streets, windmills, solar panels, oil derricks. Most have been by-passed over the years by the state, city and the feds. Coming soon, if the legislation is passed means that your street gets repair, repave, or replaced. That is something that has needed to be done along time ago, but was by passed by tax cuts and wars.

Now here is the best part. Creating and repairing the infrastructure CAN NOT BE OUTSOURCED! China can not do the job of building oil derricks or nuclear power plants. However, immigrants can come in who are not legal and so such things. Not necessarily. Folks want Americans citizens of all colors and related to do the job. This is an old

KEYNSIAN problem that creates not money that trickles down from the rich, but money that circulates through the middle and working poor, it has a multiplier effect as one middle class person pays another middle class person for jobs HERE AT HOME.

The last big thing was the HOUSING BUBBLE and it wasn’t the houses that hurt us it was the funny money Wall Street created. The big thing before that was the internet and in that instance under Clinton taxes went up on the rich to pay our bills and start getting out of debt. Before that it was military weapons under Bush and Reagan to drive the Soviets into bankruptcy trying to keep up.

THE WEEK (2008) 7/25

14/ you want to save struggling schools? Fire the bad teachers. If you have good teachers, they create an environment so that students can understand the material better and they do better on universal outside tests. Why do we have problems? TEACHER UNIONS! However, the unions survive if they allow the bad teachers to be fired and the good teachers to get more money. All of the following was done at a very poor school.

Once we have good teachers, I think that things will improve. However, I hope that is the magic bullet because I have heard so many answers before that don’t pan out. A union can still be the catalyst for health insurance, liability insurance, pay steps, management harassment and related. Bad teachers are generally more easily recognized and are rated by students and management.

15/ THE WEEK is a compilation of articles from all over the world. This one is from Ireland. TO BE A PARENT, YOU NEED TO GET A LISCENSE. He describes the problem, but does not suggest the strategy to get a license. He is particularly mad at bad parents many who can not afford to have children. However, he says that bad parents are in every social class. My question is what would be the criteria and how would you implement it.?

Sometime ago, I wrote an article indicating all the problems a poor single mother has with a child and the outcome when the child grows up. I had national data and it strongly suggested that the outcomes are not good. At the end, I suggested that if a male walks away from paying child support regularly that he have a vasectomy. This is something that I had years ago. It is short and not painful. If a female has two non-supported children then she must undergo a tubligation which is more complex than a vasectomy, but not painful. Further, that state should offer anyone free sterilization. Now does that sound like Hitler? I hope not. I tried to base this on behavior and the nourishing of the child. Some people should not have children. So who plays God? Well the state does if either parent walks away from supporting the child or will not give the child to a safe haven, a foster family, an adoptive family or a group home. What is best for the child? It could be that relatives take over the child care. The law would apply to anyone of any social class. By now, you can think of a lot of loop holes. So can I. Further, you can think of numerous organizations that would oppose it. So? I think that as we move into the realization that we are having a baby boom at the moment and that most of the increase population “doubles” in shorter periods of time. We have over 300 million now. When did we have 200 million? 1970, 150 million in about 1950. If you want to write an article on this opposing what has been written here. Please write and I will do my best to put it in SOCIALVIBES.NET/

17/ MEN SHOULD HAVE MORE SEX, if they want to have sex later in life and have

have better health. Generally, 3 times a week is best. However, this says nothing about the health of females and if they even like sex. It could be bad for them because they may do more of the work and then have sex when they really are mad at the male.

17/ those folks who are in love (this lasts about 6 months) are less likely to look at other attractive people.

17/ having anxiety all the time appears to be genetic with some environmental exceptions.

17/In the next century, it appears that American cities will have higher temperatures in the 110 range.

17/ New studies strongly suggest that babies feel pain when they are being born and should immediately be given pain medications.
