THE GOD EFFECT

Clegg, B. The God effect, St. Martin's Press: New York

As we see the material world, it is flat, round, or whatever, but it appears constant. Two chairs are just that, two chairs. However, in Quantum mechanics, strings and sponges of photons cover our world. Two chairs are imbedded and surrounded by photons. Thus, the 2 inanimate chairs

can link to each other and have a small minute impact on the other.

Quantum mechanics introduces  us to a strange world that transcends Newton's physics. Material is made of quanta and quanta gives rise to the sponginess that surrounds hard material objects. That transparent mushy photons link together so that when you throw a transparent ball as if you are playing football, photons coagulate together may go hundreds of miles away.

This suggests that down the road, we may be able to time travel, do teleporting, and make the ultimate computer that can really find obscure information rapidly. All this quantum entanglement means that in the real world RIGHT NOW, two clocks can be synchronize by strings of photons.

Way beyond that is the possibility of the Einstein-Rosen bridge. That the soul-self with the upper part of a transparent body can hurdle itself into space, see others, and then return. Further, thoughts

MAY be caught in quantum entanglement and sent to someone else.

This area is what Einstein called "spooky." It fascinates theoretical sciences and in the applied area work is now being done to do other work where one machine impacts another without the conventional devices used now.

The author is a science writer and helps bring this subject to life.
