LEVY) 41-46 FACEBOOK and MYSPACE are growing up and some of the growing pains are beginning oblivious. However, when you sign up with someone, you may also be signing up with thousands of others. Why ? Because you are all connected. Thus, information given to one person becomes information given to many others and if you lived in a small town you know what all that means. HOWEVER, the information can get distorted and twisted and soon your life span as an attractive worker for a new job may be down the drain. An inquiring reporter can find material that is untrue about you and think it is fact. THE ECONOMIST (2007) 8/11 9) Is America turning Left. It doesn't appear that way. Roughly one third of the country is conservative. Half of that is Liberal and 50% don't vote. Many of the issues that may appear in the future will be from the Right and resisted from the Left. The country is not only conservative, but for the most part has been gerrymandered from the Right. Questions and issues generally come from the Right. If America turns to the Democratic Party, they have to face a Right wing supreme court and Right wing state legislatures if not the Congress. This is a country that is very unequal and highly segregated. The enemy is the Liberal and the church is there to support Conservative members. |
