French, Kimberly (2004) “Bitter Harvest” UU WORLD, 11/12, P.31-33.

Slavery exists almost everywhere in the world and in every state in the United States. The actual slavery has changed to wage slaves. Individuals come from third world countries and are promised a new life. However, once they get to their new job, their pay just equals all of their expenses and they are stuck. Prostitutes are kept in seclusion.

One question you could ask your retailer is a product made by slaves? However, the slaves are so far back from the food chain that your local retailer can not give you an answer.
