SIR PAUL AND THE SUPERBOWL
Another stand out was the Ford Mustang convertible advertisement. The driver
was frozen to the wheel and an officer of the law came to help the poor chap
who had passed away. It appeared to be just south of the Canadian border. The
accent was pure "Fargo." At half time, Sir Paul delivered. The aging rocker who looks to be in his 40's kept the crowd happy with an album cut from YESTERDAY.AND TODAY. Yes, it's that album that originally had the dead baby dolls strewn in ketchup and quickly with drawn from the market. DRIVE MY CAR, the only Beatle car song started the medley and had the crowd cheering. Then came the controversial GET BACK (#1 in 1970 from LET IT BE album) a song about transgender folk. Who heard the words? Last year, the Timberlake/Jackson production generated 500,000 complaints. This year there were 3. It was followed by the MC CARTNEY AND WINGS / LIVE AND LET DIE. It went to #2 in 1976 in WINGS OVER AMERICA and complimented a James Bond film of same name. Moving from his base guitar, he went to the piano for HEY JUDE. Years ago, it was released on an EP 45 and went to #1 from the album of the same title. The crowd by then had penlights in the night swaying to the music. McCartney wore jeans, a black leather jacket, and red sweater. His hair was very contemporary but still Beatlesque. There was something for most everyone, even if you don't like pro-football.
