SPIES AMONG US

KAPLAN(2006) U.S.NEWS AND WORLD REPORT/5/8/2006/41-49.

In an article before, I described the number of truckers who are now watching you at truck stops. We now have 2 more sources that are watching. The first is described in conservative U.S. News& World Report.

After 9/11, nearly all the police departments became empowered to watch for spies or terrorists that would destroy parts or all of the country. Local police, county, and state law enforcement greatly outnumbered the federal force.

Their main job is to establish and maintain order at the local level. However, there new mission is an old one. Many of the police forces watched anti war demonstrators during the Vietnam Conflict.

What the author is maintain here after his 3 month investigation is that the police are not only watching for terrorist, but are watching and data mining anti-war folks, vegetarians, Peta people, and other reformist left of center groups. None of the previous had anything to do with 9/11.

END OF PRIVACY
