The Danes are fortunate to have smaller problems than other major countries whose economies are in the toilet. The problem? Dogs. Some dogs are as big as small horses, mean, and can kill you. They can also kill small dogs with more modest emotions.

So the talks is let’s take the mean ones and the ones that roam the street and recycle them

(kill them.) Then we can walk the streets. OH NO! Most of the public don’t want any dogs shot or snuffed out. That idea is for the …well the dogs. Killing puppies is like killing babies. So? We won’t have any of that Nazi stuff for our pups.

Although not stated, pepper gas is pretty good stuff. It is probably outlawed in Denmark, but I have had some big dogs rush me and I felt calm with my tear gas or pepper spray with a ten foot reach. The dogs were like horses and when I stopped and pointed the spray some stopped. Others didn’t until they heard their masters yell. They always tell me that there dog would hurt any one. Really?

We have a small dog that attacks anything. He is a Jack Russell. He is the size of a small pile of books. Off he runs to defend the territory. If I can get there fast enough, he gets beat up. So? In a few days, he is back at it again. We have him chained to the ground, but he can reach the sidewalk. We will have to change that too, because he is the boss in the family and that’s that.

If it was about 40 or 50 years ago and you and I did not have the same political perspective, we would argue about bombs. Let’s say I am the conservative, so I would favor the position of FIRST STRIKE CAPABILITY. You are the PROGRESSIVE and you would talk about OVERKILL.

For you youngsters, let me define the two. FIRST STRIKE CAPABILITY means that we can build a new faster more efficient bomb(s) that will hit the enemy so that they can not respond. Thus we win the war.

Your OVERKILL position is that no matter how many fast smart bombs we have, the enemy will get a few nuclear strikes our way and we become dust too. Thus we should

Slow down the number of missles that we make. Further, any or all the bombs create environmental catastrophes like NUCLEAR WINTERS. That means that whoever wins dies of the collateral damage to the environment that kills people indirectly...

Twenty years ago, we would also talk about STARS WARS. That means that we can build an ABM or Anti-ballistic missles that can form a nuclear shield so that we are protected from nukes coming into our country.

At the moment, we are no longer arguing these things but rather post cold war strategies in attacking or defending ourselves against rogue nations. The divisions among us are not so clear and lately the Dean of Conservatism George Will has indicated as we are getting out of Iraq, we should also mainly remove ourselves from Afghanistan.

Tepperman, the author of this essay indicates how all those big bombs have in contradictory fashion saved most us from the big blow out. Even terrorist groups don’t know how to activate these monstrosities. Oh? I have no idea. However, he makes a number of points that even a mentally ill dictator knows not to use the bomb.

I can’t answer that question, but I do know that I want this writer to be right. I would like to live a little longer and we have two kids (adults) and so do billions of others. The article is worth the read.

35 and onward.

What has the Yanks been doing about RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT? The money that goes to that and can create new jobs has been going into merging, profit taking, outsourcing, and giving big bucks to CEO’s.

We continue to create low wage service jobs. It is time to take the States back to research and development. You have to fight the market, investors, and others that R& D in the long run is going to make a lot of money and create higher paying jobs. Hopefully they are kept in the states.

Stephen Harper the prime minister of Canada really controls about 40% of the country. In their form of governance, that is enough to run the country. Particularly important is the Northwest Territories where the North Pole exists. Guess what is happening. It is melting

(Eh?) I don’t know why but the area is becoming attractive to others that seem want to know what is below the slushy snow. So there looks like there is so money to be had here. HOWEVER, whose land is it? The indigenous people. Russia who has planted a flag at the North peak? The story should be interesting as time goes by.
