REVENGE AT WORK

World Religions have tried to stop it. Socialism was going to get rid of it. The last great movement to try to harness it was the HUMAN POTENTIAL movement. Through autonomy, we would recognize that we could change and mute portions of what is called

“human nature.”

However, revenge, the dark side of humans is alive and well and living in capitalism. CEO’s have come to hate each other and they take it out in LBO’s and other ways to sabotage another competitor. It also happens in the cubicles of worker against worker.

There is not a cost attach to this, but it must be quite large. Huge economic transactions that can change the life and family of workers may occur because of revenge of one top competitor against another. It is a story of retribution, spite, and loathing. The author cites numerous times it has occurred from Vanderbilt of the 1800’s to today. Of course, the story doesn’t start there, but goes back to the beginnings of humans.

Real Estate agents are taking houses off the market and putting them back on as a new listing. When a house does not sell (especially in this bear market) it tells the buyer to beware. So, a new listing gives a fresh look to an older listing. It is illegal, but it is happening.

They are called derivatives. Basically, we are talking about money that is set aside and invested in stocks that are strong enough to weather bad times. In the old days before computers, elder stock investors looked for good stocks that would back up an investment company so that if the market went south, investments could be insured. Today, there are arcane and obtuse math models that decide money put into derivatives. It is scary, but it is still going on. It also has the potential to crash the market.

Iraq is raising a new generation bent on revenge towards the west for what has happened in their country.

Much of the time is spent in government arguing about symbolism. The hard part of governance is let go. We then have a crisis and the legislative arm reacts. Cosmetics transcend substance.

The income gap is larger than advertised. When you factor in wealth which generates dividends than the gap is much larger. Income comes from wages that you get working for another. Dividends come from wealth that is generated in part by having others work for you. You supposedly create and manage a good or service that is sold to others.

Has globalization generated incredible wealth in this country? US NEWS says so. However, many have been cast aside. The Democrats first line of attack is social and wage insurance for the displaced worker. The second line (if there is a recession) is tariff on cheap goods that come into the country. (See Batra and Buchanan.)

Botox is the best thing since baked bread. It can make you look younger. It may also help with cerebral palsy and writer’s cramp. There is a possibility that it can help back pain.

PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR. These off label benefits may be valuable. Unfortunately, there are scoundrels out there that can harm and maim you. So go to your doctor.
