FOX/ THE REAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE

The official unemployment rate is 10.2 %. A full time job is any number of

jobs that tally 32 hours. To be unemployed is that you must actively be seeking or

saying so in the last 4 weeks. Each month interviewers contact 60,000

people. Some women who are laid off are considered housewife's. Thus, they are

employed. When other tweaks are added such as those where the person is not employed

for over a year, it is 22%. The NEW YORK TIMES calculates it at 17%.

The numbers can go on and on but this is the worst since the30's and yet

things have gone from crisis to stable but fragile.

This has been done in a little over a year. What is ahead could be many things

and will leave that to the

future.,
