NO ENERGY CRISIS EXISTS! DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Coy, Peter (2005) Energy crisis? Phooey, BUSINESS WEEK, 3/14, p.23

There is plenty of energy in the USA to support Americans and others around the world.
There is abundance if we get more nuclear power plants, coal, and biomass. It doesn't matter. If and when there is a real crisis, we have plenty. So say the authors of the BOTTOMLESS WELL. Both have good credentials, and Huber & Mills provide enough rationale to suggest America is fine.

However, if that is comforting and it is to me, what about the body politic? As example nuclear power plants COULD BE vulnerable to terrorists. No one wants the spent fuel parked in their state, so it piles up at reactor plants. However, this can be done.

USA is the Saudi Arabia of coal. We have tons of it. It is great energy and can be made cleaner by scrubbers. If global warming is valid, we can start building water desalination plants.

What ever the problem, there is an energy answer is the USA. You like windmills; they can be placed in open fields in windy states. This is particularly salient in areas where nothing can grow or open cornfields that can plow around windmills.

You favor energy from the sun? That can be done in desert states that are known to have many sunny days.

Whatever you want, you can get and if you pay for it, the energy is there. Some may take billions to convert; however, the energy is there for the asking.
