Even if we are successful in Iraq and control their oil fields (about 20% of the world’s resources) we will still need more. The USA is still growing in leaps and bounds with immigration of Hispanics. Americans are high consumers of fossil fuel. Even if we drill everywhere, use more coal, develop more nuclear reactors, build and develop more alternative fuels, there will not be enough.

So we will need to conquer more oil resources. What we do have is a lot of coal. The alternatives are abundant but will take more time and effort than are SUV’s can tolerate.
