THE NEBRASKA PANHANDLE
The panhandle is in the center of the country. It is a secluded corner
of Nebraska that most people will probably never see if they drive through
Nebraska. I-80 misses most of it. It takes courage to live in the
panhandle and the folks there would dearly like to have their part of
Nebraska
annexed to Wyoming. They just have more in common. These photos include
the
panhandle and surrounding environs and are captured by Principal Gerald
Wallace. He heads the K-12 school in Harrisburg, Nebraska.
At any rate, there are good folks there. I got to know Mr. Wallace when
in the fall of 1975, he came to Dana College where I was teaching. We
wrote a number of vetted journal articles together. He took my political
sociology class and an interim course on mass communications. Mr. Wallace
was a
military officer for a number of years and then went back to Nebraska
and earned his Masters degree. After teaching at a number of schoodl,
he
became Principal in Harrisburg. Engjoy the photos.
