The U-U church has one of the highest divorce rates among religious denominations.. In the 70’s family was part and parcel of emotional growth. If that was not occurring, divorce was the answer. Liberal religion should re-evalutate the stance on the family. Divorce can hurt kids. Poor single mothers are the cradle of crime.

This does not mean that all divorce should be closed down. Where verbal and physical violence is involved and when there is gender issues and related, divorce is still necessary.

Marriage is good for gays and straights. Marriage is good for kids. The church should support marriage unless there are serious issues that transcend boredom or emotional growth.
