INTELLIGENCE WAS DEAD WRONG ABOUT IRAQ
Whitelaw, Kevin (2005) Getting it dead wrong U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT, 4/11, 32-33.
American intelligence has hit its nadir point. According to this conservative magazine, the intelligence community has never been in worse shape. They are lethargic and unchangeable. Most of the data used to attack Iraq came from a source named “Curveball.” He is described as an alcoholic and has a mental illness. Administrators of intelligence agency contend that they did not know that most of the information came from one unstable source. He was a defector and now supposedly lives in Germany.
Although the CIA, FBI and Pentagon have much to help each other, this source says they won’t do it.
