HUBBERT’S PEAK

________ (2005) Why gas won’t get any cheaper TIME, 5/9, p.40-41.

Gas may temporarily go down in price, but China and India are now big consumers. We MAY have hit Hubbert’s peak. That means that we have hit a place where there is a 50% depletion of oil. The rest of the oil will probably not be as easy to get or as cheap.

However, if a crisis emerges there is still plenty of energy. It does mean though that gas stations must convert to something along with gas. That could be hydrogen, electricity that comes from nuclear power plants, coal plants, biomass, wind, solar or something else.

Folks from all over the world will use some fuel in some way to get from one place to another.
