KIVIAT (C2) Yury in his new book, A POSITIVE NO says that there are ways to say no that are not that difficult. From his experience in negotiation, he says that you first say YES THEN NO THEN YES. It works. Thus, John I am glad that you asked for a raise, I can't give it to you now, but if you keep  doing the fine work that you are doing, you should expect one in the future.

So YES I am glad that you asked for a raise, NO you can't have a raise, YES you can have a raise in the future. (The future can be a long time from now.)

Andersen(72-79) Modernism started in 1848 in America. By the late 1840's most of us could recognize the States as it is today. The author gives many reasons why this is the case, but history does seem to repeat itself and many of the things happening now, happened then. The similarities are uncanny. The year 1848 not only goes down in history, but pops  up today.

games that is APPROVED by numerous groups. It helps kids socialize on the internet in  a safe or safer environment. It's a cyber form of a sand box. You play games and win prizes that are on the internet and will help you play other games. You can make your penguin do anything and the various races and sexes can play together. Naughty stuff kicks you off the internet world.

_________(31) Joyce Hatto was a promising pianist. Then she became ill and could not play before an audience. In fact, she was in a great deal of pain. At home she continued to record her music. What she did not know as she has now passed, is that her husband would trade her recordings for other talented artists and claim that the work was done by Joyce. It was only after ipod began to record them that could analyze the structure and see that Joyce was really someone else. Joyce did not know this. It was all done by her husband.

Begley (53-58) Humans were thought to belong to a linear line of ancestors. New research suggests that we are multi-linear. We come from many tribes and creatures. With the help of MRI's and DNA, we find that homo sapiens came together from many sources. We were probably 3 to 5 feet tall and stayed in the trees, because we were hunted. We were not hunters. So this new information may mute a bit of evolutionary psychology. Females and males needed each other and fighting over many females was not as likely.

Jones (59-64) Well time is getting on isn't it? We were the boomers, the most hated

There were many more but that should start the conversation. What we did was a cultural revolution, not a political one. It was followed by Gen X and did they hate us? Well, why not? We thought that we wrote history when they had their own heroes including Ronald Reagen.. And so it goes. We were too euphoric and much too idealistic.It was a magical mystery tour of good vibrations and excitations with some jumpin' jack flash!
