A HEART MELTING STORY

_______(2006) THE WEEK, 4/28/P. 22

A new laser procedure can melt fatty tissue that clogs an individual's heart and kills them. The strategy has been tried on human tissues and on pigs. The outcomes have been successful. For those that have had by-pass surgery, this is even better than angio plasty. Nothing breaks the skin, the laser targets the fat and it melts and is excreted from one's system.

Other uses include laser reduction of fat deposits in one's body to slim down as well as getting rid of ugly belly fat and cellulite.

However, the innovators from Jefferson Lab of the Department of Energy also see a very valuable tool in reducing acne. The small disfiguring bumps are composed mainly of fat.

As a personal aside, could this also reduce cancerous cells? The article does not say. Be sure to contact your doctor before doing any of the above.
