GREEN HYPE

22/ One of the best ways to improve business is to go green. It is not as important to be green

as if to appear to be green. Story after story here appears to show how green makes

good business even if you don't really have that much green going for you, maximize  what green you are doing. At the moment of all the energy used by Yanks, green renewable energy is now about 7% of the total energy consumed in 2006.

40/ Israel secretly attacks Syria. You recall the war there just last summer. Since then Syria has

lobbed small bombs into Israel since then . As noted in one of the essays in FUTUREDITION 4,

there are now rumors that Syria is the next war for the USA alone or with others. The war would mean that surgical strikes into the country of Syria. The troops are exhausted and stretched

all over the world. So the air strikes are more likely. Israel of course would be involved.

44/ Come back Mr. Chips! There is a record low number of male teachers in public schools.

The NEA notes that 25% of the teaching force is male. At the elementary level, 9%

of the teachers are male. Starting salaries are between $25,000 to $30,000.

There are a number of risk factors for males. If a male is in the elementary school, surely he must be gay. Further, if he is gay, he must be predatory. So males look elsewhere. Additionally, if the

male teacher is moderately affectionate, then he must be a pedophile. Again, when kids need belt buckles undone or any related activity males are caught in the middle. They can't help kids too much. Male teachers make great scapegoats for dysfunctional incest oriented family. If a child is molested, blame the teacher. This helps when it really is the mother's boyfriend or the step father. This also applies to the incestuous biological father to avoid blame, can point to the teacher.

Thus, one ends up with a low salary in a high risk job by being a teachers. Males go other places for work.

HELM 44/  Cable takes a hit. They resisted as much as they could, but advertisers wanted to know ratings of the ADVERTISEMENTS within a popular show. When that was done,

popular cable shows took a big loss of ad dollars. As an example, pre-teens and other young viewers liked to surf when advertisements come on. So MTV was down  15% so there is

an incredible loss. On the other hand, the top 4 commercial networks (NBC, FOX, CBS,

ABC) have older viewers and many without remotes. There ratings INCREASED by

5%.

It would appear that the new Nielsen ratings will monitor a television show the same as usual, but the focus will be how many folks appear to be watching the ADVERTISEMENTS
