FIFTY WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER THE NEW REPUBLIC (2006) 12/4
The entire magazine for this issue is what to do about Iraq. There are at least 17 opinions on what to do to leave..or stay. The issue covers the political continuum. The topics include: SAVE WHOEVER YOU CAN BRING THE TROOPS HOME ADD MORE TROOPS DIVIDE THE COUNTRY IN THREE PARTS DEAL WITH THE SUNNIS CRUSH THE SUNNIS TALK, TALK, TALK IGNORE JIM BAKER TRY ANYTHING AND MANY OTHERS. In the 1972, America faced a clearer choice. Senator Mc Govern said to remove all troops within 90 days. President Nixon said that he wanted to win the peace. In total , we were there for 10 years. We were forced to leave in 1974. What American troops died for is that Communism no longer spread in a domino effect through Asia. Today, it is an command market system and yet still calls itself Communist. My reading is that it turned fascist in the general sense.
THE WEEK (2006) 12/1
The cover is a drawing of what happened when we left Vietnam and helicopters were taking special people outside the country. 2/ ________ A young man got lost in the woods in Oregon. As night fell, he had already called the police. He then aimed his cell phone and Ipod toward the sky. At night, the two small appliances provided enough light for emergency helicopters to rescue him. 4/ A Colorado judge has banned a couple from smoking in their home. Their second hand smoke seeps into an adjoining apartment. 4/ In a small town in Nevada, if you fly the flag of another country, you must also fly a flag of America. 5/ The IRS increased their audit of millionaires and multi-millionaires by one third. After looking at legitimate deductions and not so legitimate ones, they discovered another 48 billion dollars. 4/ The mayor of a small town in Brazil gave out free Viagara to everyone that was elderly. Morale in the town has increased dramatically. 12/ What if homosexuality is not a choice? For moderate Christians is this is not an issue. However fundamentalists will have to deal with this along with female submission, slavery, and synthetic materials. All mentioned in the Bible as real and valid. 13/. English.aljazzera.net will give you another view of the news. Also go to google and look at their news sections. They have sources that come from all around the world. 17/ Hunger has increased in every year since the Bush administration took office. Thus, Bush and company have a new euphemism for hunger. It is called "low food security." Whatever that is, we have more of it. 17/ As disgusting as it may be, the O.J. tv program should be analyzed if he is lying. There is a voice analyzer that is partially accurate, but there is a video analysis that can slow the tape to a micro-second. During a lie, eye brows furrel and there is an ultimate quick smirk from the lips. This strategy is much more accurate. 22/ THE FEMALE THING by Kippnis. Feminism and feminity can be at war with each other. Feminism says be androgynous and assertive and feminine says fake it and appear vulnerable .Further, there is an orgasm gap. Men have more as women do not. What price pleasure? She does not answer the questions, but raises some good ones. 44/ A world without people? What would it be like? The DMZ zone between North and South Korea is a good example. Few have been there since the truce of the Korean war. What happens to buildings, roads, dams and related. In thousands upon thousands or years, green takes over cement. Nearly all animals survive by not being nice. Dogs and cattle would be gone soon.Dams would silt up and overflow. So we take 6 billion people out and their bodies make good food for feral wild animals. |
