According to Pew Research, Conservatives are much happier than Liberals. Why? From their information, Liberals do not believe that there is a true meritocracy in the country that numerous folks are left out. They believe that the inequalities of wealth and the foreign policy of the United States are wanting. Liberals looked to such countries as Scandinavian democracies and some countries in Western Europe as places to live.

To those who are reading this from around the world. There are other factors. What you see on television is not the real America. There really are thousands of acres of slums and the infrastructure is rapidly depleting. Nearly 20% of the major means of production is owned by foreign countries. In the last 2002 to 2005, the top 1% made 75% of the income and dividends. The bottom 90% lost at least a $1,000 a year.

To begin with, America is a conservative country even during times that were called Liberal. This is subject to debate, however Conservatives when they were in the Democratic party voted for the Senate and House leadership and then voted with the Republicans, the Tory party in the states.

Today, Conservatives are nearly double the number than Liberals. Most Liberals geographically are clustered in university towns, big cities, and the low income areas. Liberal is a dirty word here. To say you are a Liberal in certain places means that you can get beaten or humiliated. Liberals learn quickly to speak in two languages. One is for Liberal friends and the other is when they are out in public.

Conservatives are strong supporters of American institutions, give more money to charities and related, and identify more strongly with the military, but hate the federal and state government.

Liberals look to the federal government in terms of domestic policy, but have dramatically lowered their expectations. Red states or conservative states mean that Conservatives are nearly all over the country. There are 10 states that have over 50% of the population and they are more likely to be Liberal or swing states. In the presidential elections, the Democratic Party may come close to winning or actually win and yet lose the Electoral College that determines the president and vice president. The president is like your prime minister and the vice president is like your president. We have only 2 parties. Others may come or go, but it is a waste of a vote.

Liberals to become more powerful, must compromise in some way on guns, abortion, and

drugs other than alcohol. Many other wedge issue of the past have been reduced by President Clinton, most Liberals are now very anti-crime, anti-welfare for the poor, and other domestic  and culture issues. It is better if a candidate calls themselves Progressive than Liberal and even better if they are labeled Moderate. Conservatives are generally forgiven for past policy disruptions.

The media is not a reflection of America; the major stations are generally Liberal but must disguise it. However, cable does have Fox news, and portions of MSNBC are conservative. Conservatives can also watch CBN, ETWN, and other religious stations that are conservative.

On the radio, Conservative dominates the stations. Most newspapers throughout the country are conservative. There may be a few more conservative blogs and websites on cable and there may be a few more conservative magazines and tabloids than Liberal.

Local television stations are more likely to be conservative. Most of the rest of the culture and programming in movies is Liberal although for many movies neither ideology wants to claim the cinema. Actors who are workers are more likely to be liberal but movie company executives are more conservative.

There may be errors in the above, but they are not intentional. America on the whole is a conservative country. Liberals are the “others” or the outsiders. If the Democratic Party can support gun rights and not oppose pro-life positions, they may become more powerful. The Supreme Court now made up of more conservatives than Liberals may change the laws on these 2 issues and that may change the power of the Democratic Party. Further, de facto segregation is now back and is lawful. Affirmative action means

special help to numerous groups like rural whites and related.

Roughly 50% of Black children live in fatherless homes. Bill Cosby has it right that more men should stand and deliver, but the reality is that a number (not stated) of Black men do not live in the house, but remain in contact with their children. Many Black men are somewhere between the two extremes of the dutiful father and those that are shiftless.

The word DIGNITY is over used. Theo cons have gotten into a debate about biomedics. As Pinker sees it, biomedicine on balance can heal people and improve their lives. A new report created by President George W. Bush in 2001 and is now published as

HUMAN DIGNITY AND ETHICS is composed of a panel chosen by Bush and reflecting the Theo cons view that stem cells, drugs that would enhance intelligence and related are wrong. Pinker states that he disagrees and that no matter the position taken by this country others will develop these innovations.
