Canadian wait times for health services

In the USA, 80% of bankruptcy is due to medical bills. In Canada, there
is a wait. However, it is more likely to happen on elective surgery.
Emergency treatment does not require a wait time. In the mean time, when waiting
a nurse comes to your home to provide services. Or, if you want to you
can take your voucher and go to the USA to get treatment.

What wait time is measured?
Ontario measures the wait time from when a patient and surgeon decide
to proceed with surgery or exam, until when the actual procedure is
completed.

MEDIAN WAIT TIME: The point at which half the patients have completed
surgery or have had their exam, and the other half are still waiting.

AVERAGE WAIT TIME: The average length of time a patient waited to
complete surgery or have their exam. Averages may be influenced by one or two
very unusual cases of extremely short or long wait times.

90% COMPLETED WITHIN: The point at which 90 per cent of the patients
have completed surgery or have had their exam, and the other 10 per cent are
still waiting.
