Why are we a divided nation asks this conservative editor. He list these reasons.

They are:

1. George Bush / If you agree with me, you are for me, if disagree you are against me personally.

2.Both parties now attract non- compromising ideologues.

3.Sprcial interest groups pay for negative advertising.

4. Primaries attract ideologues not centrists.

5.Walter Kronkite news is dead. News is now avoiding the "fairness doctrine."

6.There is an abundance of hate radio.

7.The internet attracts hate mongers.

8. Cable is driven by opinion not necessarily by fact.

Our divisions encourage our enemies, dishearten our allies, and sap our resolve.
