WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE RIGHT?

TIME (2007) 3/27

TUMULTY ( 25-34)     In 1968, The Republican Party barely won the presidency

but the Democratic party lost overwhelmingly. George Wallace and the American Independent Party won the rest. By 72' using the SOUTHERN STRATEGY, The Republican Party became the

dominant party. From then on only a couple Democrats won with weak majorities. Then came Ronald Reagan and his 8 years in office set the trend for the next 25 years. TIME shows Reagan with a tear running down his cheek. What Reagan said about the Democrats has now come home to the Republicans. They are without direction, heavy spenders, and mildly corrupt. Further, the dollar is weak, the armed services is struggling and America feels a despair. Most of the front runners are not conservative to the likes of Evangelicals. Where are you Ron when we need you?

Even Bill Clinton's soap opera 8 years in office look good because of the prosperity generated by a tax increase started by Bush 41 and Bill Clinton. It told the overseas creditors that we were serious about the strength of the dollar and America's role in economic affairs. Bush 43' appears to be the most divisive president for the Republican party in many years. He still has time to change his

legacy, but it is getting late.

GORMAN ( 53-54 How do doctors go wrong? Error 1 is the stereotype. A homeless

person seeks help the medical doctor seeks problems related to alcoholism. The patient has diabetes. Error 2 numerous people s/he has just treated have the flu, when you have meningitis.

Error 3 one must do something. The doctor doesn't see anything wrong, but still prescribes a medication. Error 4, the patient is loved/hated by the doctor so this sends a bias in diagnosing the patient.

PONIEWOZIK (74) Television has pixilated sex from a lot of scenes, now it is time for violence.

The enemy now is the mystery, detective, and related. Be sure to include human cockfights. an election is coming up and it appeals to all kinds of voters.

THE NEW REPUBLIC (2007) 3/19

(THIS IS THE NEW NEW REPUBLIC. IT HAS MORE PAGES AND MORE MATERIAL)

PINKER (18-21) When we look back at the old, old days thousands and thousands o f years ago,

humans have gotten nicer. Our bad natures are beginning to improve. Even with the colossal loss of life in the 20th century, years earlier growing up meant killing some one. This especially applied to males. Life was cheap and disease made life even cheaper. To kill some one had less moral imperative. This was especially true of killing one outside the tribe. There are no NOBLE SAVAGES, just oldsters with numerous bones around them of folks that they have killed. We should now ask WHY IS THERE PEACE? On a per capita basis, we are getting less reluctant to kill.

LIZZA (21-29)  Barak Obama grew up overseas, finished law school and THEN learned how to get power back to poor people by reading and learning about Saul Alinsky's neighborhood strategies. He may use them again.

TANNEHAUS (31-33) Bill Buckley is now old enough to see the success of the conservative revolution in the United States. His fight started in the 50's and since Reagan much of his agenda has come to pass. It appears that he is about ready to pack it in.

SULLIVAN (51-56)

Dinesh D'Souza has a new book that has hit the NEW YORK TIMES best seller list. His writing is at the rank of Ann Coulter's level. The enemy at home is modernism and moderates and Liberals. With out necessarily wanting to, they are creating a path way to the end of civilization for the west. The heroes of the western civilization are the Evangelicals and THE RADICIAL MUSLIMS. Obliviously, the second group is the enemy at the moment. However, we need them. For they can show the west what theocracies are all about. It means order and that means moral order. Without it, we are all doomed. We will become a collection of casinos, supermarkets, and houses of prostitution. However, this author is so FRESH compared to other theocrat's. He dares to bring Islam and Christian fundamentalists together.

US, NEWS &WORLD REPORT (2007) 4/2

GILGOFF (18-19) Even controlling for inflation, it costs more and more to run for president of the United States. The campaign season gets longer. It is but a few weeks after the last election that

the next election begins.

MAREK (31)  We are really not ready for bio-terrorism. The money was allocated, but never given. Nor have organizations really emerged.

ZUCKERMAN (68) Energy independence and global warming are really likely to be problems in the future and the chances are very great that nothing will be done. We should make our cars fuel efficient, add more taxes on to gas and oil,  and drill in the Artic for oil. Coal is cheap, nuclear power is dangerous, and ethanol is just a transition energy. Then you had the social security problem, healthcare, and the fiscal crisis and we are in trouble, big time.

NEWSWEEK ( 2007) 3/ 26

CHARMICAEL (38-73) EXCERCISE is helpful in your physical health and your mental health. It even may help if you have cancer. Even if you exercise just a little it is much better than nothing.

WILL (84) A new book suggests that the latest strategy for both major parties is the MIDWEST.

Increasing, Democrats are winning this area.

BUSINESS WEEK (2007) 3/26

FINE ( 28) You have an upscale neighborhood and you decide to create an e-newspaper for that locale. You do all the right stuff to get interest in the e-paper and you sell ads to make a go of it. Well it sounds like a good idea, but so far it doesn't work. Surely, if YOU TUBE can bring the neighborhood together, then you can. No, not really. At least you can't make money at it. If it works at all you  need a national set up with local news prominent and national news secondary or rather national sections of astrology, crosswords, and related. There is potential there but the formula is not yet here.

COY ET. AL (34) The housing bubble has burst in most places. Typical to the business cycle, to keep the bubble going, sub prime loans were let. Many had ARMs so that as the housing market went down interest rates went up, Many now have lost their shirt and their home. Much of the blame this time appears to be on the lenders. They thought they could hook the duped and still make a profit. It didn't work out that way.

MANDEL (38) suggests that all this is a correction rather than a meltdown. He also suggests that housing for solid borrowers have lower interest rates.

JANA (42) Welcome to Maple Story. It is another virtual community where you can meet more people like you who are NON-TECHIES. You adopted an Avatar and you go see other folks. You share the news and maybe the conversation can get serious. Unlike SECOND CITY, this virtual world is so easy to get to and into.

ELGIN (96-97) There is an inconvenient truth. Selling offsets or buying the ability to burn

more heat by giving a broker who then provides money for green projects is not working so

well. The bottom line is the tragedy of the commons. That is a green space in the center of apartments that no one takes care of. China is burning coal with more new coal plants everyday. and we have a tremendous amount of cheap coal. We can clean it up, but we can't cool it down without a very expensive apparatus. Further, such organization as COMPETITIVE ENTERPRISE INSITUTE and CATO INSTITUTE indicate that we do not have global warming. Further, congress is not going to do too much about the problem. So we most hope that the Right wing

think tanks are correct or that we have a mild global warning. If it is severe, many millions of people will survive and we will change our lifestyles dramatically. However, pre-crisis organization is

hard to gather money and strategy. But , don't you give up. ZERO POPULATION GROWTH

failed, but the ongoing climb of people has changed some areas considerably. Lots of people may be necessary if there is a die off of people due to global warming.  Who becomes loose change

varies by location and wealth.

GOGOI (109-110) If the FDA approves, you will be eating meat from cloned animals.

PALMERI ( 112) Native American Casino's are making big bucks and they are buying up land to make more money in other industries. Essentially, that gives them the power to compete for numerous products or industries that others can not afford to do. So Main Street is mad.

LADERMAN(128-129) You have a problem with choosing investments. You use

BRACKETS.  They are like a dumbed down algorythyms. You start with 2 comparable investments and choose the one most likely to succeed. You do this all on the first run along with numerous other choices. The second run or rung is the decision from the first and they are compared with other decisions. By the 3rd run, you are down to 4 choices, than the next  is to 2, an finally you make your choice. Author claims it works.

THE ECONOMIST (2007) 3/17

______(85) A computer program was written for the 1% solution. That means that

patients who lose most capacities below !% want the plug pulled on some

survival machine. Evidence indicates that relatives and patients do not agree and the best

strategy is to get help from the computer.

_________(86) in game theory, the Nash equilibrium meaning that decisions come to stand still. No one wants to change their strategy because it is not to their advantage. This applies to voluntary flu shots. Usually the molesters get shots and the kids don't. However, when flu arrives kids get it first, then adults and elderly are saved. Demographically that is not good. Kids and adults are more important to a society than elderly. However in a pandemic, flu shots become top down and mandatory. It is called the utilitarian strategy. In this situation, most are saved.

__________(87) New findings suggest that there is a more diverse number of proteins in the ocean than previously thought.

_________(87) Brain controlled games should be on the market soon.

___________(88) In the future, you may be hired for employment based on genes. The start is already here. Looking at specific genes, two groups emerge. They are LARKS who are early morning risers and OWLS who get up late and stay up late. After 48 hours of sleep deprivation,

the OWLS were vastly superior to the LARKS in games, tests, and numerous other

related assessments.
