KINGSBERRY (53-57) Is college worth it? Of the thousands of colleges and universities, there is a diverse curriculum and different standards to graduate. Except for community colleges, post secondary education can be extremely expensive. How many finish? What do they know before they enter? What do they know after they have finished college? Should the tests include calculations, problem solving and multiple choice questions. At this time, good colleges are ranked by various criteria. Does that mean anything? Some extremely expensive and prestigious colleges and universities are known to have legacy tracks of dumbed down courses for the children of rich alumni. What are they learning? Only 60% of those who enter college will graduate six years later. The article discusses other abuses. It is time for a university level, LEAVE NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND testing with published results.. |
